Three Top Ranking Women Golfers

These women dominate the female golf world. All started their careers at a very young age and had to endure many sacrifices and hurdles on the way. Here is a quick look into their lives and professional careers.

LYDIA KO

Lydia Ko has been crowned as the youngest professional in the world.

She currently holds the top position in golfing and is the youngest player in both the male and female categories. She was named in Time’s magazine as one of the 100 most influential people. Lydia hails from South Korea and moved with her family to New Zealand when she was an infant. She started playing when she was 5. At the age of 7, she had her first brush with the media for her performance at the Amateurs championships. In 2014, she announced she was turning pro and has continued her quest for top place.

INBEE PARK

This Korean golfer started her career at the age of 12. She moved with her family to America to pursue her career. This 27 year-old held the top title for a year from 2013 - 2014. Park graduated from Kwangwoon University. She won her second career LPGA Vare Trophy, which put her at the threshold of induction to the LPGA Hall of Fame.

STACY LEWIS

Stacy Lewis ranks number 3 in the world. She grew up in Texas and at the age of 11 was diagnosed with scoliosis. Stacy missed her first collegiate golf season as she was recovering from surgery. Not one to let her condition bring her down, she fought her way to the top. In 2008, she graduated from Arkansas with a Degree in finance and accounting. She is one of the top earners in female golf.
