10 More Golfers Have Qualify For Open Championship

The just concluded Travelers Championship that took place during the weekend so another bunch being included in the upcoming Open Championship. The players who did themselves a favor by punching their tickets to the Open Championship at the Travelers Championship are Brian Harman, Carl Pettersson, Graham DeLaet and lastly Luke Donald. They will be joined by other six golfers, that is Robert Streb, Charley Hoffman, Kevin Kisner, Steven Bowditch, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Alex Noren.    

As for Robert Streb, Charley Hoffman, Kevin Kisner and Steven Bowditch, they earned their ticket to the Open Championship thanks to the FedEx Cup points that they have. The other, that is Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Alex Noren, they got their ticket to the Open Championship thanks to the European Tour Race to Dubai.

So how exactly do they decide who will be given an invite and who won’t, well its very simple. All the golfers who take part at the Travelers Championship stand a chance of earning an invite to the Open Championship. All a golfer has to do is ensure that he finishes in the top four. If you happen to finish in the top four and you have no invite, then you will automatically be invited. As for the FedEx Cup points, the Open Championship basically looks at those with highest point in the top 20, if you have to be one and haven’t qualified yet then you automatically earn an Open Championship invite. The last two slots are awarded to those golfers that have scored high in the Race to Dubai standings.
